Local processing has no cap — cutout, compression, cropping and colour depend entirely on your machine's memory, and we don't guess on your behalf. Cloud processing (restoration, colorization, background swap and the like) is bounded by the assistant's 20 edits per turn, so larger sets run across several turns automatically; nothing for you to do.

Which operations need a sign-in and which don't?

Does batch processing upload my images?

It depends which operation you pick. The local ones (listed above) never leave your device — go offline and verify. The cloud ones do send the image, and only the layer you selected; the cloud icon on the button is visible before you tap it. Nothing is uploaded without being announced.

If the settings turn out wrong, do I have to start over?

No. Each is its own document, and undo (Ctrl+Z) is per-document. You can reprocess just a few, or undo everything and run another pass — rather than "already exported, upload them all again".
