Soft photos come in two kinds: motion blur and missed focus. Sharpening rescues the first kind when it's mild — it raises contrast at the edges so detail that is already there reads more clearly. Where focus was off, the detail was never recorded, and no amount of sharpening can invent it.

This page has a single «Sharpen» slider, 0 to 100, default 50, using a fixed 3×3 sharpening kernel: it boosts the contrast between each pixel and its neighbours above, below, left and right, so outlines read more clearly. There is no radius and no halo protection — push it too far and high-contrast edges (branches against the sky, dark outlines on a light background) get a white rim; when you see one, pull back. For radius and threshold, press «Pro editor» for the full editor and use «Smart Sharpen». Everything is computed in your own browser; the photo is never uploaded. It is not AI upscaling: detail that was never captured cannot be invented, so a badly blurred shot will not come back with any tool.
