What needs resizing is rarely one picture; it's a whole folder: a submission capped at 1920 on the long edge, a product list that wants everything 800 wide, a batch of photos that should be smaller before you send them. Opening and exporting one by one turns a hundred files into an afternoon.
The rule is simple: you fill in “Max width” and “Max height”, and each image scales by its own ratio to fit exactly inside that box. It only shrinks — an image already smaller than the box keeps its original size rather than being stretched (enlarging cannot create detail that was never there). The format stays as it was: JPG remains JPG, PNG remains PNG; HEIC, GIF and other formats the browser can't write are saved as PNG; only JPG gets a white backing, because JPG has no transparency. Scaling uses high-quality resampling. There is no cap on the number of files; leave width or height empty (or enter 0) and that side is unlimited — for example, limit only the width to 800. How many you can process depends on your computer, not on a gate we set. A file that will not open is skipped automatically without stopping the batch. It all runs in your own browser; the images are never uploaded.

- Can it enlarge small images?
- This batch page only scales down — an image already smaller than your box keeps its original size rather than being stretched. To enlarge a single image, use the “Resize Image” page (5%–400%) or the full editor's menu Image > Image Size…; to keep the edges cleaner when enlarging, use the “Upscale image” page (resampling + sharpening — enlarging can never be lossless).
- How many files can it take at once?
- There is no cap — it processes as many as you pick. How fast depends on your computer and the image sizes, not on a gate we set, because we did not set one.
- Why one file at a time instead of a zip?
- Browsers block downloads fired back to back, so each one is triggered a little apart from the next to let them all land. The first time, your browser may ask whether to allow this site to download multiple files; once you allow it they save into your Downloads folder automatically.
