The design is done — now see it on a wall or in a phone. Generate a mockup.
The path is File > Automate > Generate Mockups.... The dialog offers three built-in templates: Frame (800×600), Billboard (900×600), and Phone Screen (480×900). Hit generate and your current design is mapped onto the template. The billboard is in perspective — its right edge sits farther away, so the design is warped onto four corners and looks like it is really standing by the road; the frame and phone screen face you straight on and stay undistorted. One thing to be clear about: the mockup arrives as a new document in a new tab, and your original design is not gone — it is still in its own tab, and both can be exported. Another thing worth saying: you cannot upload your own mockup template. These three are drawn programmatically, not swappable image assets. If that is enough, great; if not, you need a different tool — better said here than discovered after you arrive. It all runs in your own browser; the images are never uploaded.

How to use
- 1 Finish the design firstThe current document is what gets mapped, so get it right before generating.
- 2 Open Generate MockupsFile > Automate > Generate Mockups...
- 3 Pick a templateFrame, Billboard, or Phone Screen — each card shows its size.
- 4 Generate and exportHit generate; the mockup appears in a new tab and exports to PNG or JPG as usual.
FAQ
- How many templates are there? Can I upload my own?
- Three: Frame 800×600, Billboard 900×600, Phone Screen 480×900. You cannot upload your own — these three are drawn programmatically, not replaceable assets. If you need a large branded mockup library, this will not cover it.
- After generating, is my original design still there?
- Yes. The mockup is a new document in a new tab, and your original is tucked into its own tab rather than overwritten. Both stay editable and exportable.
- Why is the design on the billboard slanted?
- That is deliberate perspective: the billboard template's right edge sits farther away, so the design is warped onto four corners to look like it is really standing by the road. For an undistorted result, pick Frame or Phone Screen — those face you straight on.
- Is it free? Are my images uploaded?
- Free, no sign-up, no usage limit. Nothing is uploaded either — it all runs in your own browser.
