A filter isn't there to «make a photo pretty»; it's there to make a set of photos look like a set: one trip, one shop's product shots, one account's output. A shared cast reads as a body of work in a way that individually tuned images never do.

This page is six ready-made looks: Vintage, Cool, Warm, Faded, Punchy and Noir. Pick one, then let the “Amount” slider decide how heavy the hand is — enough to give a photo a mood, and ready to download. The full editor's “Filter” menu holds 112: in 9 groups — Blur 11, Blur Gallery 3, Distort 15, Noise 5, Pixelate 8, Render 5, Sharpen 5, Stylize 54 and Other 6. Stylize is the largest group, holding Oil Paint, Watercolor, Colored Pencil, Charcoal, Emboss and Find Edges. There most filters' settings can be pulled (single-step filters such as Blur, Sharpen and Find Edges have no settings, as in Photoshop); most of them can also be stacked several in a row in Filter > Filter Gallery… — with a different order giving a different result. A few, such as Emboss, Find Edges, Sharpen and Mosaic, aren't in the Filter Gallery and can only be applied on their own from the menu.

How many filters are there?

Can filters be stacked?
This page applies one at a time (picking another starts over). To stack, use the filter gallery in the full editor: you can add several in a row, and the order matters — blur then sharpen is not the same as sharpen then blur.
