How do I keep facial features from being dragged along?

Switch to freeze and paint over the eyes, nose and mouth — the painted area will not follow when you push next to it. Painted too much? Thaw erases it. Straight lines in the background, like a door frame or tile joint, are worth freezing too.

Liquify pushes pixels around with a brush, and the nine modes each do one job: push and push-left are the basic shoves, twirl clockwise and counter-clockwise rotate, bloat and pucker expand or contract from a point — face slimming mostly uses push and pucker. The brush has size 10–200, pressure 1–100 and density 0–100: size sets how wide the effect reaches, pressure how far one stroke pushes, density how soft the edge falls off. The three that really earn their keep are the others: freeze paints over what must not move (facial features, a straight line in the background) and the painted area stays put while you push right next to it; thaw erases the freeze; reconstruct brushed over a spoiled patch eases it back to the original, without undoing whole steps. There is no one-click auto beautify here — everything is manual. Slower, but it will not warp the background along with the face. It all runs in your own browser; the photo is never uploaded.
