What computer do you need to run AI locally?
Computers with a GPU work best, and ordinary computers run it too; it detects your hardware and sets up models after install.
TutuNode puts your GPU and memory to work for chat, image generation, image editing, speech and video. The more VRAM, the bigger the models it can run and the faster the images.
No need to pick models yourself: once installed, TutuNode shows what your computer can do, task by task, and downloads the right models. Want a task type on a stronger GPU? Borrow idle GPUs across the network.

FAQ
- Can I use it without a dedicated GPU?
- Yes. Ordinary computers run chat, speech and other light tasks; images and video go faster on a computer with a GPU or on idle GPUs across the network.
- Does it work on a Mac?
- Yes — a Mac with an Apple M-series chip is a great fit: chat, image generation, image editing and speech all work, and the more unified memory, the bigger the models it can run.
- What can DGX Spark do?
- Chat, images and video — we've tested FLUX image generation and Wan video on DGX Spark.
- How much VRAM do I need?
- 8 GB or more works; the more VRAM, the bigger the models and the faster the images. Once installed, TutuNode tells you which task types your computer can do.
- Can I use it from my phone?
- Yes. Install TutuNode on a computer, and requests from your phone can be handled by that computer at home.
